Thanks for a Fantastic 2009 fair!
Happy patrons trekked to “Hooves to Horsepower” – Celebrating 150 years of fair; at the 2009 El Dorado County Fair.
The celebration began on opening day as patrons walked through the bubble filled gates and received one of the over 1,700 birthday cupcakes available through the kindness of Safeway, Save Mart and Sweetie Pies.
Fun was had by all who visited as there was something for everyone of every age. From exhibits, music, animal acts, car show, livestock to corn dogs, it was all available here at the fair.

Our lineup would also not have been complete without the groups and individuals who donated their time to volunteer at the fair. Much thanks to all of the Coloma Blacksmiths for their wonderful demonstrations of how things used to be, Dan Wills for his Grandpa’s Old Time Pharmacy, Alton Pryor for his gathering of local author’s to create the Author’ Porch and their storytelling and the California Dairy Princess for her time in the Kid’s Corral. Our thanks also to those of you, who helped with the many activities on grounds including the livestock shows, the building sitters, the 4H Horse Show, and the Capital Bar volunteers, among many others.

We would like to express gratitude to all of our generous sponsors and hope that you will continue to patronize their establishments. Their names can be found on the Sponsor and the Friends of Fair pages and they help to make this fair great.

And most of all thank you, our fairgoers, who love to gather as a community to relish in each other’s accomplishments in exhibits from photography to baked goods to livestock, who get together to see old friends, listen to some great music and eat some fantastic fair food!
